The Founding Story
RetentionLens was built by Rune W. Monrad, a software engineer and SaaS operator based in Norway, after noticing a pattern across dozens of early-stage subscription businesses: 20–40% of monthly churn was involuntary — failed card charges, expired cards, insufficient funds — and almost entirely preventable.
The survival-analysis and cohort tooling that could diagnose these patterns (Kaplan-Meier curves, Cox proportional-hazards regression, cohort heatmaps) existed, but only in the hands of teams with dedicated data scientists and weeks of engineering time. A solo founder or a small growth team had no practical path to these insights.
The goal of RetentionLens is straightforward: make those analytics primitives accessible to any founder or operator who connects Stripe. Two minutes of setup, first insights the same day.
